Questions and Answers
Question: Can I submit my comics for sharing on your website?
Pls check out the Art/Commission section! =)
Which of your own comic is your favorite?
Ann: Hehe, I don't even need to think about this one. I get the most kick out of Paladin. And you know which one I don't like writing the most? It's actually Psychoteers ^^; Paladin has what I wanted to write most in every genre. And it is what I'll be using to bust most shonen manga formulas including the following:

* Law of Perpetual Enemy Strength Increase

* Law of Scantily Dressed Warrior Nun Despite Being So-Called A Woman of God

* Law of All Female Characters Will Fall in Such Strategic Ways as to Flash the Male Readers Some Eye-Candy

* Law of All The Main Characters Are Always Perfectly Beautiful No Matter the Situation

* Law of Enemies Will Always Look Like Bad Guys

* Law of Main Heroes Will Highly Unlikely Lose A Major Limb--on second thought I'll keep this.

* Law of The Only Way To Fight is in a Cool and Clever Way

* Law of There Always Seems to Be Enough Money And Supplies to Do Anything

* Law of Heroes Will Very Rarely Seem to be Truly the Bad Guys (Yeah, let that sink in a bit.)

UC: Now that I actually have multiple comics up here, I suppose I can answer this. Ultimately I'm going to say Tic Tac Toe Joe. CAA Comics was something done randomly for fun, so it's out. Between the other two, however, it's difficult to compare different genres. But T3J is meant to be random and humorous, and I think it succeeds in that. Silva Mundus tries to be meaningful, and I'm not sure I can claim to have accomplished that as fully.

What is the rating for your comics?
Ann: I do not write comics for children (i.e. 13 years and below). My intended audience is teens and older. It has something to do with my own background that I can pour more into a dark and angsty piece than a cheerful and happy one. So yeah, there are violence and mature themes (as in for teens and above--not pornographic) from time to time that are not quite suitable for young readers and for believers that have a personal conviction against such themes.

Mave: I suppose I could write for children but I relate to teens and older better.

UC: Varying, but I tend to write for older audiences. T3J has nothing particularly offensive in it, but Silva Mundus has content I wouldn't recommend for the young.

How do you make a Christian manga?
Ann: Ah, um--er.... Well, I've been doing comics for a long time so it really was just thinking up Christian plots then drawing them out ^^ How do you make a Christian story, you ask? Well I like to take most of my material from real life experiences and in rare cases like Remembering You was thought up and completed (the story) in one night. Then other stuff are inspired by other people's works like adaptations and stuff.

Mave: Ann and I are pretty similar in the way we approach story-writing.

UC: To write good Christian literature, the religious themes should be so deeply intertwined with the plot or inherent to the concept that they coexist without discontinuity. Battles interspersed with sermons, soliders who happen to drop God's name every so often, and traditional genres with Christianity thrown in are not sufficient.

Can I get hard-copies of your work?
Ann: Okay... you can get All For One in Megazeen #4, Remembering You at Anime Angel's Mangazine, Thy Name in Megaunity: Blue.... And I guess that's it for now!

Mave: As for now, only KingdomCome is available in print through Anime Angels Mangazine.

Christian anime/manga?? Inconceivable!
Ann: Basically, we're drawing Christian comics (by that I mean glorifying God one way or another correctly or just from a Christian perspective) with the Japanese manga style. And so, to differentiate between western and eastern style of Christian comics, we call it Christian manga for lack of a better term. Same goes with Christian anime if it ever gets made. I don't see what's so hard to grasp about that. Of course, one can always make a big deal out of it. Here, you can use my "X-TIAN MANGA/ANIME?!?!" rant guide:

1. Always use the phrase "tentacle rape". Every anime and manga out there has tentacle rape and to neglect to mention this is to show you have no mentionable knowledge of anime/manga and will risk being severely mocked by the anime/manga elitists.

2. Always be sure to refer to Harry Potter or Pokemon with extra props to you if you can use both titles in a coherent, original, and witty sentence along with "tentacle rape", "fuku wearing school girl", "baka", "Neon Genesis Evangelion", and "Superbook". (Man, that sure will get this page into search results.)

3. In particular if you were referring to Christian Anime Alliance, do not ever think that CAA might meant to be read as "anime alliance for Christians"; for it is always referring to "alliance for Christian anime" despite the fact you will never find any Christian anime as of now other than 3 anime done in the 80's. The people at CAA are just hiding them from you to make you think your rant is unfounded and useless since you're referring to something in the most part is nonexistent.

Mave: "Manga style-inspired Christian-focused comics" probably best describes our efforts but that's quite a mouthful.
