If you've been wondering what it is, this is another step toward an answer.
There haven't been very many updates in recent months. We're all sorry about that, but it's the way things have gone for a variety of reasons. Some of us had work stress, some had the usual college pressures, some have been occupied by behind-the-scenes projects, and some had very serious health concerns. But I'll let those people share if they so choose and only talk about myself.
I recently accepted a development position in Tanzania. For the next three years, I will be providing tech support for an AIDS relief organization, though my focus is on providing free computer classes and training technicians so the village doesn't need to rely on expatriates. Unfortunately, that has made it difficult for me to be involved here, both due to a poor internet connection and the amount of time it takes to learn a new language, start a new job, and acculturate. Sorry about the forum spam. I was the one to clear it, but forums are expensive with my connection and others have been busy.
The good news is that my situation will improve by the end of the year. Once I'm established in my location, I'll gain access to a satellite internet connection that's actually better than what I used in the US. I can't promise that next year will be more active, because there is a lot going on the lives of others, but hopefully by then my life will have stabilized.
We're all still committed to the site. We've always known this was a long term effort that would have its ebbs and tides. Right now we have secondary projects to finish and various issues to sort out. When we're ready, we'll return with regular updates and a more streamlined focus. For now, we're going to be quieter, experimenting and preparing.
Hi everyone! It took me 1.5 hours to figure out how to add a main menu link (see the "gallery" link there now? *point point*) and to post this update. Haha oh crepes, I'm SO RUSTY! Ann has kindly creatd a new gallery since I'm closing off my DeviantArt account. Thanks, Ann! <3 <3 <3
Much has happened to Ann, UC, Zhen, ChristianKitsune and myself in the last few years including that inevitable school-work life transition. I think some of us 'snapped' under the pressure/pain and wondered if we could ever recover.
This is what the hiatus has taught me: I did not understand that we are His beloved Children above all else. I tried working myself to death in everything including TheProject. Having fully received God's Grace recently (Hallelujah!), it became clear to me that God has always been more concerned about us as human beings rather than what what we can do here. I've never felt so free in my life. Praise God for His Beautiful Gift of Salvation and Law of Christ! XDDD
Don't expect too much from us. We're gonna enjoy the freedom to move at our own pace and enjoy the fellowship God has blessed us with. There is so much in life to be thankful for, apart from this website & comics! Even if my hiatus is over, I'm not even sure where or when to begin. XD If you see some weird random changes here & there, that's just me having fun trying to remember how to navigate around. Ann probably has to monitor me, lest I destroy the whole website by accident LOL
We hope that all of you remain steadfast in His Love & Grace. Talk to you later! ~ Mave
Can it be true? The Whack Project is FINALLY finished? (And page 33 begins right here, you say?) Yes, yes, it really can, um... depending on how you look at it. (Please don't throw things at us, guys, yes, it was all intentional don't take it so hard and no, Mave doesn't really have anything to do with the ending. Really. If anyone asks, I was inspired by the coolest thing in Tac-Tac-Toe Joe, so Ann and UC also have a part in this. Sort of.)
Anyway, Mave and I had a lot of fun planning it. I still have the old script marked up and it gives me warm, fuzzy feelings :D. I'm glad we did a lot of planning because finishing up the comic with years in between has made me forget that everything is actually supposed to link together and isn't a page in isolation. So go ahead and read it all... all over again! You know you want to!
This is theoretically the last version that should be necessary. Now I understand why so many people were having problems: the game wasn't freezing, one errant line of code made the player invisible. Anyway, all reported bugs with the game are verified as fixed as of this version. Re-download and put your save files into the new version and all will be well.
TheProject hosts online manga-styled comics geared toward the Christian audience and strives to provide relevant links to other Christian comics, reviews, forums and more. We also want to take over za warudo.
